Also known as SW 6254, Sherwin Williams Lazy Gray is not your ordinary neighborhood gray. It is not the gray you can find in concrete nor is it the gray you can normally see in the color of steel. No, this Sherwin-Williams hue is a unique find, a kind of bluish-gray that simply walks on the balance between muted gray and baby blue.

The Light Reflectance Value of this shade is 53, meaning that it is not too bright or too dark. It has an RGB of 190,193, and 195 respectively, with a HEX value of #BEC1C3. This color can easily assimilate and give different moods, depending on the color paired with it and the type of lighting the room is exposed to.

Released in the Fall to Winter season of 2021, this is a fairly fresh color that may be used with other Sherwin Williams’ colors such as Peppercorn, or Ice Cube. Giving off a cool, airy atmosphere to any room it is painted in, Lazy Gray is recommended for use on housings built in countries with tropical climates.

This will give the impression of a cooler room, especially if the temperature reaches above 80 degrees. Classified as a medium gray color with blue undertones, Lazy Gray SW 6254 from Sherwin Williams has a wide range of scopes to be used especially when paired with other complementary colors.

Mix and Match with Sherwin Williams Lazy Gray:

Lighting affects the color atmosphere, either by making the place too bright or making it too depressing. Best Places for Lazy Gray

Lazy Gray SW 6254 is such a versatile color, not only can it be used as a paint internally, but can also be incorporated on the outer coverings of the house. This beautiful gray color can adapt and give way to any design, be it Modern, Scandinavian, Rustic, Industrial, or even Transitional.

Cooler colors like Lazy Gray give off a serene atmosphere, and the tranquility in the house can lead to various positive effects. When used as the main paint color, it creates a soothing feeling and gives the illusion of a wider space. In the living rooms, it gives a sleek effect. Because of its muted tones, it can easily highlight various decorative pieces without overwhelming them. By pairing it with doors or trimmings painted with whites more on the cooler spectrum, it gives off an organized, crisp vibe. For a dramatic look, white and gray give such a noticeable effect.

Another interior space that works well with SW 6254 is the bedroom, which should not only scream comfort but also induce the resident to let down their guard. Sherwin Williams Lazy Gray accent walls work wonders to give this calming effect – and while you’re at it… Furniture with a palette of black, blue, and white can also do the tranquillity trick. The effect? A well-balanced splash of color gives rise to that muted tone, while still being vibrant and elegant in one.

Gray kitchens are also the rage right now! With Lazy Gray SW 6254 as the main kitchen shade, grace and sophistication is the only way to go. Paired with either matte black or brushed nickel, your kitchen will scream refinement and charm. For that additional luxurious look, marble countertops can also elevate your elegant tastes.

Lazy Gray can also perform well when used on the exterior as this hue is known to take on lighter shades. A darker main body can make the house appear larger than it already is, and lazy gray accents can give off a modern or mid-century style. Black doors with lazy gray work well too!

Lazy Gray vs. Other SW Colors

Sherwin Williams has a variety of muted shades and gray colors, but Lazy Gray can be said to be unique among them all. While some grays such as Dorian Gray and Woolskein are known for their green and yellow undertones, SW 6254 has a hint of blue. When hit by proper lighting, it can bounce off light making a reflection of a beautiful baby blue.

Sherwin Williams Lazy Gray may be mistaken for two other Sherwin-Williams colors, Samovar Silver and Monorail Silver. However, Samovar Silver (SW 6233) leans more towards subtle blue with a dominant shade of gray. It is darker than Lazy Gray and has an LRV of 51. The main difference is in the undertones, while Lazy Gray may be a gray with a hint of blue, Samovar Silver is a true blue mixed with little amounts of gray.

When it comes to Monorail Silver (SW 7663), Lazy gray looks more muted. This is because Monorail Silver leans towards the darker side, and although a good blue and gray paint, is less light-reflected than Lazy Gray. Monorail Silver is also quite bold, while our SW 6254 can be considered neutral and a good backdrop for various settings.

Lazy Gray dismisses the misconception that every gray is boring – with its wide variety of applications, it surely is a great color to have in any home!

"Mike was great to work with. He explained all that needed to be done to install a quality roof that would last. Had other quotes but other contractors were not as informative and did not include everything that was needed. Mike’s crew was courteous, did an excellent job and completed the work in a timely fashion. If you are not familiar with working with insurance adjusters be sure Mike meets with them when you set up a meeting. This was helpful in my case and made the claims process run smoothly. I am very pleased 😀 with his service and recommend him to my neighbors of which two have used him across from my home."
